Soundless/Textless anamatic

This is my anamatic without the sound or text. The length of it will change quite a lot when I fit it to the music and add the text to it, but I thought I would post up my progress up to this point as it's taking quite a while to fit everything to the music, and get the effect with the text that I want.

Here is my storyboard, quite hard to show the way my animation will go but gave it my best attempt. Almost done with my anamatic just need to finish with the sound and text.

Music is very important in my animation, most of my movement will need to be choreographed to the music so before I can get my anamatic done and my concept art I need to chose my music. I been going through a lot of different sites and it is very difficult to find decent music that's free and royalty free. But I eventually found one site that has quite a lot music I like. I listened to many times of genres and the ones I liked the most were classic type music. Below are some of the ones I like the most. I'm going to take the tracks into audition and see if combining and editing some of them.

The first one I'm thinking more along the lines of background music and I have other tracks layered over the top.

I did some quick thumbnails of what the cell will look like complete when it's finished building itself, I need to figure out how it's going to look before I can start drawing my concept art that shows stages of it being built.

I did three more thumbnails working on texturing again, trying to make them more uniform and less chaotic, I pretty happy with the results but I need to now start putting these textures onto my concept art and then I'll be able to see what works and what doesn't, because at the moment I could just continue playing around with these textures endlessly.

Adobe Audition

In our lesson today in Audition we were given an image and we had to create a simple one minute sound track fro it. This is what I came up with.

Final Influence map

Since I've look at so many new things since I first did my influence maps I thought I would update them and add a few of the new images and influences I've looked at to create my final influence map.

Dayl Chihuly

Dale Chihuly
Tom Beg pointed me in Dale Chihuly's direction. I really like his work I think it looks amazing his paintings as well as his glass work. With my textures at the moment I'm just playing around with layers and effects and coming up with some interesting abstract images. But if I'm going to do this with my textures I need to find a more uniform effect that I can alter slightly but still looks as if they are from the same thing. Also I think I need them to be slightly less complex otherwise with all the colours and textures it will just look a bit of a mess. For this I'm quite liking The third image down with the vases. Each vase is different but they have a coherency with them and I think trying a few thumbnails that have the similar effect would be quite good. 

I also really like the images below and how there are all these spiral shapes that look like they are reaching out. This might be the way I get my cell to build itself, in spiral tendrils that reach out and then wrap around themselves to form the organelles. 


I did some more thumbnails to experiment with using lots of layers to figure out how I'm going to get that textured effect on my cell organelles. I quite happy with some of them, at least I now know how to get the effects I want, a bit more playing around and I'll get the effect I want.

I thought I would do some quick thumbnails that map out the structure of my cell and some of the organelles  so I can familiarise myself with the cell before I start trying to draw my concept art.

Abstract Photography

Thought i would have a little fun and Play around with some lighting and glass and take some really abstract photos to see what I could come up with. I changed some of the colours in some of them and I really like the way some of them came out. I quite liking the idea of having the cell have this glassy feel to it. Not so it looks like glass but so it looks as if each part is made up of lots of thin layers and you can see through each one to the next.
