Hi Kym,Another good review! I suggested to Emily Clarkson that she should begin to bring in comparisons from other pieces of culture to help aid the discussion of the film and bring up her academic writing to another level. You have a comfortable writing style so I'm going to suggest the exact same thing to you. Perhaps for King Kong you could cross-reference it with another separate film, or take a look at any cultural 'happenings' from the time it was made and see if there are any similarities to be had. Or both! It would make for a very interesting review.
great grumpy quote from H.G Wells, Kym - 'soupy whirlpool' - oh dear! Much better balance here between you and the voices of others - but a quick bit of housekeeping advice; whenever you introduce a film, book etc. - even if it's just in passing (as in your reference to The Fifth Element), you should include the director/author and the release/publishing date too.
