Character Sketches: Little girl

So I started doing sketches of what I want the little girls face to look like. I decided the eyes would be the most important part as they would change how the face looks. I think I have the face I want I just need to look at hairstyles and start putting things together.

Started looking at children's hairstyles to try figure out the kind of hair I want. I haven't look specifically at 1940's hairstyles for the little girl because I figure that no matter what decade children tend to have similar hairstyles.

Below I did some drawings with the face I liked and some different hairstyles. I Like number 1 the best  and I think I'll move on to my other character before I come back and put everything together and start doing colour pallets on this character.

Character Sketches: Little girl

Trying to get my idea of the little girl I have in my head on paper is quite difficult. The more eyes I draw the more confused I get about what kind of eyes I get. To many choices I think. The Image below is a quick sketch and then me getting carried away with doing different eyes.

I thought I'd leave the face for a bit and try figuring out the shape of the head and what I want her to be wearing. I've pretty much chosen the shape of the head I want but not really sure about the dress, I kind of like all of them. Might try and do another page of dresses to figure out the details I want.

The next sheet is just dresses and I really like number 6 and i thinks its going to be the one I use. Now I just need to get back to designing her face.

Rough Storyboard

I thought I would try and get the first rough sketches for a storyboard down. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be and i struggled to get down the camera shots down they way they should be but it's only a rough one. I also haven't designed my characters or set yet so I improvised with stick figures.

Influence maps

Here is my influence map for the little girl. I want her to be really cute and innocent looking.

For my female character I want her to be young but quite normal and ordinary like the average woman, but I am also thinking of styling her and the little girl in the 1940's fashion.

This is for the street and the outside of the house I'm looking at Victorian houses and and streets I quite like the style.

For the interior I'm keeping with the Victorian theme as the house is old and I want it to look that way in style.
